Automated quantification of cell populations fraction in different phases of the cell cycle 

Cell cycle and cell division represents the most fundamental and important processes in eukaryotic cells.  Athena‘s Cell Cycle application offers an image-based automated analysis tool to quantify  the fraction of cell populations in different phases of the cell cycle 

  • DNA content, measured from fluorescence intensity, reveals the cell cycle distribution of a sample
  • Suitable for adherent cells as well as suspension cells
  • Nuclei shape and morphological parameters are also extracted
  • Time lapse imaging can provide insight into changes in cell cycle progression during treatment of live cells
  • Ideal for Proliferation assays, Screens for drugs that cause cell cycle arrest or cell death in cancerous cells & many more

Cell Cycle analysis visual tools

Cells under different treatments, labelled for DNA content, in an 8-well dish, were studied using cell cycle evaluation.
Images acquired by Hermes at 10x magnification using the Cell Cycle Application.
The percentage of  cells in G2 stage at each well, as gated from the interactive histogram, is presented on the heat map.
