Colony Detection & Cell Count in Colonies
Count number of cells present in tightly packed colonies

Overview
This application infers the number of cells present in a tightly packed colony, where individual nuclei are difficult to identify.
The algorithm quantifies the cell count by identifying two cell populations: single cells and multi-cell colonies. It then uses the average intensity of a single cell to extrapolate the number of cells contained within a colony
Key Features
- True cell per colony measurement
- Area and cell density metrics
- Colony shape & morphology extracted
- Compatible with bright field images

Microbiology: colony detection
Applications include viral plaque assays, neutralization assay,
bacterial colony generation.
Detect single cells or nuclei defining colonies by building them up from these single elements. Distance between individual elements and minimal count numbers permit flexible yet reproducible identification of colonies.
